Biography
James B. G. Uhl, Psy.D.
Dr. Uhl joined the Navy out of high school and spent four years serving his country and seeing a good portion of the world. Following military service, he attended a Merchant Marine Academy, and worked as a ship’s officer on the Great Lakes. After years on the water, he gave up sailing and entered the Jesuit. (Jesuits are a religious order of Roman Catholic priests) As a Jesuit, he helped to build a Jesuit High School in Southern Sudan, Africa, and subsequently taught math and science there, all of which were done in the midst of a famine and civil war. He has also worked as a Spiritual Director for women religious and an Assistant Chaplain to the men on Death Row at San Quentin Prison, near San Francisco, California. He left the Jesuits because he was finding traditional religion becoming a bit too confining. He then moved to Chicago to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology. Since the mid-nineties, he has worked as a therapist in private practice. He moved to Florida in 2015, where he spent seven years working with hospice patients and has only recently returned to the Midwest.
Dr. Uhl’s expertise is concentrated in four primary modalities, Dreams, Past Life Regression, Hypnosis and Spirit Release. As an expert in dream interpretation with nearly 40 years of experience, he has worked with the dreams of his clients using them to discover where they are out of balance with themselves, their relationships and their environment. Attending to one’s dreams, promotes inner health and greater spiritual awareness. His work with Past Life Regression did not begin until after he had finished his doctoral training. Since then, he has come to realize that a major portion of our lives are not only heavily influenced by, but are actually programmed by previous life experiences. An example would be irrational phobias, for which no cause can be found in this lifetime. Hypnosis has many applications; investigating past lives, releasing spirits, and helping one to heal. Using quantum hypnosis, a type of hypnosis that goes beyond our three-dimensional reality and allows the client the capability to ask questions of its own soul. This ability to communicate with the soul serves one in many ways. Not the least of which, is expanding our awareness – exponentially - to whatever may be. It can also be used to discover one’s life’s purpose or where you are out of balance, as well as facilitating dramatic healings. Finely, Spirit Release; helping spirits/people that have not yet gone into the light. This work has helped Dr. Uhl to better understand the complexity of our multidimensional existence. Unfortunately, most human beings evaluate their lives within a very limited three-dimensional paradigm, which makes it all but impossible to see the bigger picture. Our true identity is to be found in the fact that we are immortal, powerful, spiritual, creator beings, that share a divinity with the Creative Source through our soul (an integral part of us that always was and always will be). Our physical expression is exceedingly transient and only lasts, at most, about a century. How then can we make sense of the eons our soul has been in existence? We need to move beyond the ego and get reacquainted with our soul and discover that it is our true and lasting identity. What we call “lifetimes” are merely aspects, created by the soul, for the purpose of learning.
