Spirit Release
FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH SPIRIT RELEASE
Shortly after finishing my Doctoral degree in psychology, I began seeing clients. I had been around the block, as they say, and I had seen my share of unusual things. After all, I had done a tour in the Navy and spent about 8 more years in the Merchant Marines. I left sailing to enter the Jesuits (a religious order of Roman Catholic priests) and I was with them for about 12 years. During that time, I spent two years in Southern Sudan, Africa helping to build and teaching in a Jesuit High School there. The experience was further heightened by the fact that Sudan was immersed in a severe famine, which was exacerbated by a protracted civil war. While studying my theology I also worked as an assistant chaplain to the men on death row at San Quentin Prison. I had been there; done that and thought I was ready for anything. Little did I know… My world was about to be changed by the next several clients I would see. I was about to face a challenge that would rock my world, my faith and my practice. It came to me pretty much the way everything else did, it was dropped in my lap without any pretense or warning.
One day, a client came into my office looking for help. Little did I know that her visit was going to dramatically change the way I approach therapy from that day forward. The client was a physically attractive, 36-year-old woman. She was well-groomed, polite, educated and appeared to come from a middle-class background. For the sake of anonymity, I will refer to her as Betty. She told me she had found me by surfing the Web looking for therapists who did past life regression therapy. The problem, as she explained it, was her relationship with her husband. She had been to many therapists and marriage counselors for this problem but none were able to help her. She was now certain that the problem must lie in a past life conflict as she had tried everything else. She told me she was coming to the end of her rope and she was certain that her husband was as well.
She told me she was married to a wonderful man whom she loved dearly. However, occasionally when they were having a conversation, Betty would begin to get agitated and then angry for no apparent reason. Soon she would be yelling at her husband and saying hurtful things. “Most of the time,” she remarked, “I don't even know what brings it on. I just can't seem to control myself. Rather than getting angry, my husband will calm me down and go through the conversation again with me. He begins by saying, this is what I said and this is what I meant to convey by it. When he does this, I can see that I have no reason to be upset. I apologize and everything goes back to normal. Only it doesn't, really. These irrational outbursts are becoming more and more frequent and I know that they're taking a toll on the relationship. As I said, my husband is a wonderful man and I don't want to lose him.” I asked Betty if she could give me any specifics on what set her off but she told me she could not remember any, except to say that they were all pretty trivial.
We talked a little bit about the procedures involved in past life regression therapy. I wanted to make sure that Betty understood what we were going to do and that she did not have any apprehensions or unrealistic expectations. Betty told me that she had never been hypnotized before. I explained the nature of hypnosis to her and answered all of her questions. She was very calm and relaxed and appeared ready to begin work. Betty was an excellent hypnotic subject and moved into an altered state quite easily. Since this was her first time with hypnosis, I applied some deepening techniques to further enhance the altered state. Eventually, we got to a point where she was seeing herself standing before a beautiful archway that contained a curtain of light. I told her that on the count of three I was going to ask her to walk through that archway and find herself in a different place and a different time. I further assured her that her own unconscious would pick a lifetime that would shed some light on the current situation. I began to count, one... two...
"I don't think they're going to let me do that." I heard Betty’s voice say, in a quiet, non-committal, trance-like way. I was a little taken aback because I had never experienced anything like this before. "Who is not going to let you do this?" I asked. "I don't know who they are but I don't think they're going to let me do this" she replied, again in that trance-like voice. I was stumped and not quite sure where to go from here. My mind was racing trying to think of what to do next when Betty exclaims, with considerable distress in her voice, “I have a terrible headache. It hurts so much. Make it go away, make it go away!”
I had never encountered an abreaction like this before in hypnotic work, particularly since Betty had not yet been directed to experience an altered reality. However, it did feel like I was back on somewhat familiar ground because I had done hypnotic work with people who had migraine headaches. I calmed Betty down and asked her to address the headache and to inquire why it appeared.
Again, in that dreamy, altered-state voice I heard, “Headache, why are you here?” Then a big smile formed on her face and in a slightly surprised voice, I heard her exclaim, “Oh! It’s Phil!” “Who is Phil?” I asked. “He was a neighbor of mine. We were just friends. He wanted to have an affair with me but I didn’t want anything to do with it. I was happily married and besides he was too unstable and had a lot of problems. He eventually committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.”
I asked if I could talk to Phil and got the surprise of my life. Betty, who was still deeply ensconced in an altered state of consciousness, slowly turned her head toward me and with her eyes still closed, said, in a much deeper voice, “Who the hell are you?” It was disquieting to hear this crude interrogative coming from my very polite client. I explained that I was Betty’s therapist and that she had come here seeking my help. I then asked Phil, “Do you understand that you are dead?” With a derisive attitude, he explained, “That’s stupid, If I were dead would I be here talking to you?” I had to admit his logic. I then tried to get him to accept that he had no body. But apparently, from his perspective, he still did. He admitted that he had attempted to kill himself once, but it hadn’t worked. However, he continued, he must have caused some damage because everything has been different since that time.
I took Phil back in his memory to the point of the attempted suicide and asked him to turn around and look behind himself. He saw his body lying on the floor in a pool of blood and realized that he had indeed transitioned. He told me that after that event people had begun to ignore him and he found that to be very frustrating. He went to see his friend Betty. When she ignored him, he grabbed her by the shoulders intending to shake her but instead found himself inside of her.
I asked Phil if he had seen a bright white light after he had left his body. He told me that he did but that he could not go into it because he was Catholic. I didn’t quite understand what he was trying to tell me and asked him if he could clarify it for me. He told me that suicide was a mortal sin and if he went into the light he would be judged and sent to hell. So, he decided to stay where he was.
“If you are Betty’s friend, why are you causing so much difficulty for her?” I asked. His answer was that he was not trying to cause trouble but he did not like being in bed with that other guy (Betty’s husband). I told Phil that Betty chose to be with her husband. However, Phil still thought he could win her over if he loved her enough. Especially, since Betty’s husband was beginning to exhibit signs of frustration over Phil’s intervention. I finally got him to understand that Betty was not growing closer to him. “In fact, she came here looking for help because your actions are making her suffer.” He felt bad about that but admitted that he did not know how to leave her body.
I told him if he thought about the light it would appear for him. He told me he could see the light now and added, “But I already told you why I can’t go into it.” I tried to encourage him, telling him that everything would be fine and that he would not be judged for his actions. To which he replied with a sneer in her voice, “I don’t believe you. You would tell me anything to get me out of here.” Actually, I had labored under the same kind of Catholic programming and I wasn’t entirely convinced of the veracity of my statements either. “Is there was anyone that has crossed over that you would believe?” “I had an aunt once who was very kind. She never lied to me.” Hoping against hope, I told him that if he looked into the light, he would see his aunt. Phil said that he could see her. I instructed him to ask his aunt if he would be judged. “She says that I won’t be judged. She says that I will be warmly received and that I don’t have to suffer anymore.” “Do you believe her?” “Yes, I do.” “Are you ready to go with her?” “Yes, I am.” “All you have to do is walk toward her.”
Betty told me she could see him going into the light. “He stopped,” she said. “He wants me to deliver a message to his wife and little girl but he doesn’t want you to hear it.” “If it is something you are willing to do, please proceed”. Betty sat there for a few moments as though she were listening, occasionally nodding her head. “Yes, of course, I’ll tell them... He’s gone.”
“How are you feeling now?” “I feel fine... except now I have a pain in my neck and left shoulder.” Again, I instructed her to address the pain and we found it to be George. She told me that George was another friend of hers who had died in a car accident. He went through the front windshield and was almost decapitated. His story was similar to Phil’s. He thought he was lucky to survive the accident but was frustrated by everyone ignoring him. He finally sought out his friend Betty and when he touched her, he found himself trapped inside of her.
George had been watching what was going on in this therapy session and came to the realization that he had transitioned on his own. Before we had an opportunity to inquire if he wanted to be released, he asked Betty if she could do the same thing for him that she had done for Phil. Once again, we called for the light and it appeared. Quietly, she said her goodbyes to her friend and he moved off into the light.
Again, I asked Betty how she was feeling and she told me she was feeling a lot lighter. I inquired about any other pains or sensations and she told me there were none. Because it had been such an emotion-filled session I directed Betty to go to a quiet, serene, rejuvenating place of her choosing so that she might collect herself before I brought her out of her altered state. Once she had returned to the here and now, we processed what had taken place in the session. Even though it was a most unusual session, Betty seemed to think that it had gone very well. I let her know that if anything else came up, I would be happy to see her again. She thanked me and left my office.
Ordinarily, that would have been the last I would hear of Betty, but this case has a Postscript. About a week later, I received a call from her. She told me that she was so happy that she just had to call and let me know how well things were going for her. She and her husband were getting along wonderfully and had not had a single blowup since the appointment.
Not long after my initial experience with spirit release, I was again doing Past Life Regression therapy with a client. This woman was 42, about 5'10" and rather hefty. When we got to the point where she should have been perceiving another lifetime, I asked, what are you experiencing now?” I was quickly met with a shushing sound, and the following dialogue ensued.
"Pardon me?" Again, I was shushed. "Why are you shushing me?"
"Be quiet, he'll find us." "Who will?" I asked. "That mean guy".
The shush-er was in fact the spirit of a twelve-year-old girl who had died in a fire. When she saw the 'white light' she thought it was more fire and went away from it. Eventually, she ended up in my client. The 'mean guy' was another spirit who was caught in the client as well. The girl was deathly afraid of him so we quickly and quietly released her and returned her to her relatives in the light before continuing.
"How are you feeling now?" I asked. All of a sudden, the musculature of this woman's face changed. She seemed to be growing ugly before my eyes. Her eyes popped open and she glared at me with intense hatred. She then jumped out of her chair and started yelling in a crazed, masculine voice, "I'll ask the questions here!" At the same time, she began to flail at me with her fists. I had all I could do to grab her by both wrists and by sheer force of will direct her back into her chair. At that moment, her face returned to her pleasant countenance and she innocently inquired, "Why are you holding my arms?"
I didn't want to alarm her but I was scared to death and not really feeling at the top of my game. I was wishing that she were anywhere but in my office at that point in time. The entity was not released that day as the processing of what had taken place consumed most of our time; also, neither one of us was anxious to revisit the experience. In fact, it took several weeks for us to embolden ourselves to the point where we were ready to try the release again. During that time, I lived in dread of what might happen at the next session and prayed to every angel and saint I ever knew for protection. I also began to devour books on the topic of spirit release, but there were not many available at the time.
When we were ready to begin the work again, we invoked spiritual protection by imagining ourselves being surrounded by white light and we invited in our angels and guides to be part of the process. This time, there was no unpleasantness. Once into an altered state, the client’s physiology did not reflect what was taking place within. However, the effect of the entity was unmistakable. He was furious and he did not try to hide it. He was a member of a subversive group in Russia in 1916. He hated Tsar Nicholas II for the persecution he and his family had endured and had accepted a commission to sneak into the palace with a bomb to assassinate the Tsar. Something went wrong and the bomb detonated prematurely. The assassin was mortally wounded and lingered in agony with his anger seething at those who made the bomb, his failure to complete his mission, and the fact that the Tsar was unscathed. When he saw the light, he did not want to go into it but rather remain behind and finish his mission. When I informed him that nearly a hundred years had passed since that time and that Nicholas had been dead for most of them, he agreed to go into the light.
My path for learning about spirit release work began a journey of spiritual awakening. Most of the time it was rewarding, often confusing, and sometimes incredibly frightening. I've had to alter not only the way I perceived therapy but also the way I view spirituality and the human condition. It raised the additional question of my responsibility to the non-corporeal clients that entered into the therapeutic situation. I attempted to let go of the religious programming that had been such a significant part of my life, as that perspective only seemed to muddy the waters in my search for clarity.
Even with all of the reading I was doing, I still found it difficult to do the spirit release work. The biggest problem I was facing was that I had to learn a different way of doing the work with each client I saw, because the way each described their experiences while in an altered state of consciousness was very different. There were those who were quite verbose in their reporting, which made the work flow more smoothly. Some were incredibly parsimonious and would only offer material in response to a specific question. If I was not able to pose an appropriate question about who or what the client may actually be experiencing, I would simply have to do without that information. Others only reported vague impressions or sensations. Eventually, through a series of synchronistic events, I was put in touch with a woman who had psychic abilities. In her mind's eye she was able to see, speak to and feel the entities present.
We soon formed a working relationship. There were several spirit helpers that we invited into every session, including Padre Pio, a canonized saint of the Catholic Church who, in his last incarnation, had been an Italian priest in the late nineteenth and first half of the 20th Century. The archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael were always invited and present, as well as many other helping spirits who would often show up, especially if they were important to the client.
Working with the psychic made the spirit release work go more smoothly because of the consistency. Occasionally, (through the psychic) St. Michael would instruct us in ways to improve the work; usually, offering information to counter some misperceptions I held. He would sometimes inform us that, in a few days, we would be experiencing something new and hinted at ways to deal with it. He would sometimes speak to us of spiritual realities that would be worlds apart from anything we had learned from our respective religions.
Those encounters took place more than 20 years ago but I can still recall them vividly. I have had a great many experiences since that time and have discovered complexities in the human condition that I never learned in my doctoral training and could not have conceived in my wildest imaginations. I am continually being surprised by spirit but they seem to have lost their ability to shock me.
WHAT IS SPIRIT RELEASE THERAPY?
The cursory response to this question is helping the soul of someone who has experienced physical death find its way into the light. Spirit Release Therapy is a very gentle, compassionate and respectful way of helping both the client/host and the entity(s) move in a direction of greater improvement; toward health and wholeness on the part of the client and toward spiritual progression for the entity. The word “therapy” can be a bit misleading as it generally refers to an ongoing process. However, in SRT all of the work is accomplished in a single session.
WHAT ARE SPIRITS?
For the most part, spirits are people without bodies. Troublesome spirits are those that have become stuck or earthbound and not yet gone into the light. When our fear gets the better of us, we refer to these spirits as ghost, ghouls, specters, poltergeists and so forth. However, the fact of the matter is they are simply disembodied people with their personalities, memories, behavioral patterns and fears, still firmly intact. Can they be scary or harmful? You have only to think of the spectrum of humanity to answer this question. There are people that can make your blood run cold and others that are the epitome of sweetness. The whole scenario can become exacerbated if they are under the influence of demons but the fact remains that they are people who are lost, confused, disoriented and probably angry and need to be treated with a great deal of compassion.
BACKGROUND
The influence of spirits on human beings is not a New Age phenomenon. In fact, it is well chronicled in Christian Scripture that Jesus and his followers had the ability to cast out spirits who were causing difficulty for their hosts. Unfortunately, the release of spirits has come to be primarily associated with demonic possessions. However, much has been learned in the intervening two millennia and we no longer look at our environment nor understand the human condition in quite the same way as our predecessors of that time. That is not to say that demonic possessions and/or attachments do not occur; they do, but it is important to recognize that not all attachments or possessions are demonic in nature. Percentage wise, very few of the spirits encountered in this work tend to be demonic.
POSSESSIONS – ATTACHMENTS – UNATTACHED SPIRITS
Above, I mention both possessions and attachments; perhaps it would be best to define these terms before going on. Possession takes place when an entity, usually a demon or strong personality, takes over conscious control of the host’s body. Even though the entity may always be present in the host, the possessing is intermittent and not a constant state. It requires too much energy for the possession to go on for extended periods of time. An attachment, on the other hand, usually refers to a disembodied spirit that has taken up residence in the body of a living human being. A better way of understanding this is that the entity gets caught in the energetic field that surrounds the body. These attachments may either be active or benign. An active attachment will usually attempt to influence the host either toward or away from certain behaviors. For example, a host may experience an overwhelming desire to smoke, drink or behave in a deviant manner, even though they would never conduct themselves in such a fashion ordinarily. With both consciousnesses operating within the energetic field of the body, the brain is not able to distinguish between them. Consequently, the host may begin to think that it is losing its mind. A benign attachment may be content to simply exist without attempting to influence the host in any way. However, regardless of whether or not an entity attempts to influence the host, it almost always takes place inadvertently, as the entity cannot dispel its own fears. There are also spirits, who do not become attached but nevertheless, attempt to influence the host.
SRT IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY RELIGION
It must be pointed out that SRT (Spirit Release Therapy) has absolutely nothing to do with religion. Every human being on the planet has a soul. This fact has very little to do with what or how they believe. Religion is a context or a matrix, which helps you to make sense out of multi-dimensional aspects, found in your 3-dimensional existence and is usually driven by cultural norms. Unfortunately, much of what I have to say about SRT is going to conflict with what many of you have learned from your religious upbringing and undoubtedly, I am going to offend some people by what I have to share. For that, I profoundly apologize and ask for your indulgence.
NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE (NDE)
In the last half of the 20th century, we have been inundated with books, movies and television specials concerning descriptions of an afterlife being reported by people who have undergone a near-death experience (NDE), in which a person has “died” and has then been "brought back to life". After recovering from such an experience, many people can accurately describe events that occurred while the body was clinically dead, including the activities and conversations of the medical personnel during the resuscitation attempts. If these reports are to be believed, it would appear that consciousness separates from the body, remains fully aware and "sees", that is, perceives, everything in the vicinity in precise detail, usually from a vantage point located above the action. Many people who have experienced an NDE also report having been greeted by friends and relatives who are no longer among the "living". The implication here is that the personality survives physical death, fully aware, fully conscious and yet disembodied—a spirit.
WE ARE NOT A BODY THAT JUST HAPPENS TO HAVE A SOUL. RATHER, WE ARE
SPIRITUAL BEINGS THAT JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE A BODY AT THIS POINT IN TIME
These events would seem to indicate that the essence of who we are is essentially spirit, since that part of us does not seem to be affected by physical death. Our bodies then, may simply be a vehicle we use—like a space suit—which allows us to negotiate a three-dimensional reality. However, if our perception is that we are primarily a physical being who just happens to have a soul, somewhere… We are going to have a difficult time of it when we approach our physical demise because we are losing our perceived identity.
If, on the other hand, our personality and awareness remain intact, it would follow that we maintain the ability to direct our actions in a way that is consistent with our understanding of our surroundings. If our experience of religion and our understanding of our Creator have been fairly satisfying, it is most likely that as we leave the body, we will gravitate toward the Light and our "heavenly reward". On the other hand, if our experience of religion and our understanding of the Creator have been characterized by fear, it seems unlikely that one would choose to move toward the Light, particularly if one is anxious about being judged and sent to a place of eternal punishment. We do have a choice, or does it seem more reasonable to assume that “free will” only exists for us while we are residing in a transient physical shell?
MANY SPIRITS DO NOT REALIZE THAT THEY HAVE DIED
Spirits that choose not to move into the Light become earthbound. Others, who have had their lives ripped away without any warning, such as victims of accidents, natural disasters or random acts of violence may also become earthbound because they are unaware of the fact that they have died. Not having had the benefit of an illness and being aware of their impending demise, they are at a loss to explain what has happened to them. The one thing of which they are absolutely certain is that they are not dead, because they are fully aware of themselves. Regardless of why a spirit becomes earthbound, the existence that spirit continues to experience is characterized by confusion, loneliness and disorientation.
DESIRES KEEP US EARTHBOUND
Something I have noticed, in doing this kind of work, is that those who choose to remain earthbound do so because they are usually following their desires. If your heart truly rests with your Creator, you will find the time of transition an easy one. But if your heart is filled with strong feelings of anger, fear, jealousy, resentment, guilt, greed, or remorse, it is likely that you will remain behind and attempt to address these emotions. Inordinate attachments to one’s possessions, people or addictive substances can also interfere with a normal transition. The journey of a particular lifetime doesn’t end with our physical death. Human development becomes somewhat arrested but the resolution of a lifetime does not occur until we return to the Light. It is interesting to note that our awareness of ourselves, prior to and following our demise, changes about as much as our awareness of ourselves prior to and following the removal of our clothes in preparation for going to sleep.
Earthbound spirits are generally not a problem to living people as long as the spirits are simply wandering. However, occasionally one or more of these spirits may take up residence in a house or building and attempt to make their presence felt, or they may become attached to an individual, most of the time inadvertently. It seems that once the entity comes in contact with a weakened energy field (aura) around the body of a living human being they get trapped by that energy field and cannot escape. An attachment can form anytime during a lifetime from the time of conception to old age. Sometimes, this is done without producing any noticeable symptoms. However, their presence is usually a drain on the energy of the host, since the attached spirit can generate none of its own and this may cause fatigue in the host. Another difficulty is that the host will usually pick up on the fears, apprehensions, infirmities, likes, and dislikes of the attached entity and, without any evidence to the contrary, will interpret them as his/her own.
COMMON SIGNS OF ATTACHMENTS
• Low energy level
• Impulsive behavior
• Memory problems
• Poor concentration
• Inner voice(s) speaking to you
• Character shifts or mood swings
• Abuse of substances (alcohol, tobacco, drugs or food)
• Sudden onset of physical problems with no apparent cause
• Sudden onset of anxiety or depression with no apparent cause
• Strong emotional and/or physical reaction to viewing this page
TREATMENT
Initially, it is important to determine whether an entity is actually an attached spirit or a spirit in the vicinity causing difficulties for a household or a person. With an attached entity, there is usually confusion on the part of the host for thoughts and actions that appear foreign to them. The attached spirit does not understand why it cannot come and go as it once did. Explaining these situations helps to facilitate the healing. An unattached spirit, on the other hand, will usually make its presence felt by manipulating the environment in some way, generating fear and apprehension, even though that may not be their intension. Regardless, when an entity is discovered, it is treated as a second client.
For the most part, disembodied spirits are confused, disoriented, lonely and unhappy. They are fearful of being discovered and afraid to leave, preferring to maintain an unsatisfactory status quo rather than risking some worse unknown. In communicating with the spirit, an attempt is made to establish a relationship and to discover why the entity is present, as well as their needs and desires. As strange as it may sound to us, most entities are unaware of the fact that they have died. Once this has been explained to and accepted by the entity, it goes a long way toward bringing things into perspective. The goal of this type of therapy is not simply to send the entity away—they could always return or attach to another person—but rather to help them overcome the fears and apprehensions that may prevent them from going into the Light and continuing their spiritual progress. Once this has been accomplished, attention is again returned to the client, helping them to put right any harm that may have been caused by the spirit’s presence.
DEMONS
Upon occasion, as mentioned above, one may sometimes encounter a demonic entity. These entities tend to exhibit considerably more bluster than the non-demonic entities. This behavior is frequently a compensation for their fear at having been discovered and intimidation is their general modus operandi. Demons may either be “fallen angels” or disembodied human spirits who have chosen to follow the “Dark One”—usually because their fears and/or religious beliefs have led them to conclude that they cannot be forgiven. It is important not to fear demons because it is our fear that allows them to have power over us. Believing they can harm you gives them tacit permission to do so. The most powerful protection we have against demons is believing in that “spark of divinity” that we all carry. Prayer and the defense available from our guardian angels are also helpful. However, we must invite our angels to protect us. Our guardian angels are one of the most powerful resources you can imagine but there is little they can do unless they are invited to help. They will not interfere with our free will in any way.
Once a demon has been discovered, the procedure for releasing it is essentially the same as releasing any other entity. An attempt is made to establish trust and to discover the needs and desires of the demon. Demons are not happy with their lot; they are always on guard and they live in constant fear of being punished by those in authority above them. It is relatively easy to convince them that being in the Light would be much more advantageous. Initially, they are usually shocked by the suggestion, as they do not believe that they can be forgiven. However, when they come to understand the unconditional love of the Creator they choose to move into the Light.
CONTROVERSY
One controversial aspect of this work I discovered by conversing with demons and the angels during the release process is that there never was a “fall from grace” or a war in heaven between Lucifer and the Archangel Michael. That was merely a human explanation for the system of duality that exists on the planet. Earth, it seems, was created as a place of learning, not a place to seek salvation. The reason being, that in a multi-dimensional reality the concepts of “good” and “bad” do not exist. (In a 3-dimensional reality they make sense.) Whether we choose the positive or negative, something is going to be learned.
The way chosen to facilitate learning was done with a system of duality or polar opposites; where things become more understandable by viewing the other extreme. (I.e., light and dark, good and evil, love and hate, war and peace, weakness and strength, etc.) In order for the system to work there needed to be energy holders for both the positive and negative polarities. For the sake of humanities’ learning, angels were asked to hold these poles. Because every human contains that spark of divinity the angels were happy to assist.
Since the Harmonic Convergence in 1987, the earth has begun a shift from duality (us vs. them) to a new system characterized by compromise and negotiation that will eventually lead to peace on the planet. (It is slow, but it is happening.) One difficulty that remains is that the angels/demons that were holding the negative poles have operated at such a low vibration for eons that they have forgotten their true identity and have begun to identify with the work they had been performing. Even though they no longer need to be energy holders, they must, nevertheless, choose to relinquish the task and go into the light, as their free will is still paramount.
As mentioned above, Spirit Release Therapy is not based on any particular religious tradition. It is patterned on the information gleaned in over 25 years’ experience with clients, attached entities and angelic guides. Regardless of their faith—if any—clients all mention angels of light or beings of light that help facilitate this process. Through this process, the attached entities are able to communicate with friends and relatives who have already made the transition into the Light (also referred to as heaven) in an attempt to ease their misplaced anxieties about being judged, punished or rejected and help smooth the way toward resolving this particular lifetime.
THE ACTUAL SESSION
SRT is usually done sitting around a table. All who may have been affected by the spirit are welcome to attend, for all are usually in need of some healing. The session generally takes between 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of spirits to be released. There are no candles, incense, chanting, music, dimming of the lights, nor holding of hands. It is simply a group of people (some in bodies, some not) getting together for the first time and having the opportunity to learn about and help each other. Having had many years of experience at doing this kind of work, I facilitate the session and a psychic, who, as an accomplished medium, puts into words the spirits responses to the questions so that all present may hear. We attempt to discover when and where the spirit lived, how they died, why they became earthbound and how they came into the client’s awareness. Taking cues from the entities’ lifetimes we attempt to discover what they need to put them at ease and help them to move on. Questions are encouraged from all that are present. Knowing the spirit’s journey and understanding the spirit as a person helps the client to be better able to forgive the spirit for its, usually inadvertent intrusion into their lives.
Forgiveness goes a long way toward healing both parties. One of the interesting things about SRT is that it is part of a quantum or multi-dimensionality reality. Time and space are three-dimensional realities that are not consistent with a quantum experience. They are part of a 3-D construct that allows us to negotiate our world in physical form. All of this is just a highfalutin way of saying that distance is not important in this kind of work. Spirits can be called forth whether they are across the state, the country or the world. We do not need to be in close “physical” proximity to them to be able to communicate—they are not physical beings and are not in any physical location, even though that may seem to be the case.
TRANSCRIPT OF SPIRIT RELEASE THERAPY SESSION
There is much fear and misunderstanding surrounding the concept of Spirit Release. Many view it as a form of Exorcism, but nothing could be further from the truth. Spirit Release Therapy (SRT) is a very gentle, loving and respectful way of helping both the client/host and the entity(s) move in a direction of greater improvement; toward health and wholeness on the part of the client and toward spiritual progression for the entity. The word “therapy” can be a bit misleading as it generally refers to an ongoing process. However, in SRT all of the work is accomplished in a single session; the goal of which is to return the errant spirit into the light. Exorcism, on the other hand, is anything but gentle, loving or respectful. The exorcist uses ancient prayers, holy water, incense and invokes the name of, an ostensibly, loving God to condemn the demon spirit to hell for all eternity. Also, exorcisms can take weeks or months to accomplish. However, SRT treats all entities, human or demon alike, in the very same fashion. Both are creations of, and loved by, an incredibly benevolent Creator. What mother, regardless of what her child may have done, would want to see them suffer for all eternity? Is God any less loving?
I am not trying to challenge the personal belief system of anyone, but my experience has led me to do the work in this way and I think the results speak for themselves. I am including a session of a normal human being, who, out of concern for his family, refused to go into the light. After working with him, through a psychic and his Guardian Angel, he was ready to make the transition.
Below is a transcript of a release done with a disembodied spirit, so that you may compare the two and decide for yourselves if the Creator of all things would find this work commensurate with unconditional love.
An SRT Session
A woman from another country had recently lost her husband, Romero, in a car accident and she had this feeling that he was still around her. She wanted to help him but she didn’t know what to do. While speaking on the phone to a friend of hers in America, she shared her concerns. Her American friend was a mutual acquaintance and contacted me to see if anything could be done. The session begins by invoking the aid of St. Padre Pio and St. Michael the Archangel.
Psychic: Padre and Michael are here.
Me: Can you bring in Romero for us?
Psychic: Yes, he is here.
Me: Romero, would you mind if I speak with you?
Romero: I don’t know you but go ahead.
Me: I know that you don’t me, but your wife, Virginia, reached out to a girlfriend of her’s in the United States and her friend reached out to us because she knows we do this kind of work.
Romero: But why doesn’t she want me with her?
Me: Who?
Romero: Virginia.
Me: She does want you with her and she is trying to help you. Do realize that you have died?
Romero: Well, I know that our car was in an accident and since then I have been a little confused. I can’t get to her and I can’t make her talk to me. She keeps trying to tell me something about going into the light, but I just want to be with her.
Me: I understand what you are saying, and you are correct in saying that it is a little confusing, but we are here to help you if that is all right with you. Also, Virginia is right to invite you to go into the light. First of all, do you know that you have a Guardian Angel?
Romero: Well, I was taught that we all have a Guardian Angel.
Me: Do you know that he is there with you now, and that you can see and talk with him?
Romero: It must be this strange guy who has been following me around.
Me: That’s the guy. They never leave your side. The difference is, now that you have lost your body—at this point, we both know that nobody dies—but now that you have lost your body, why don’t you ask that strange guy if he is your Guardian Angel?
Romero: He says yes and my name is Roberto.
Me: If you look into his eyes, you will see that he is incredibly kind and really is there to help you.
Romero: I think you’re right.
Me: The thing is, now that you have lost your body—I don’t like to say died, because that’s really not true—but now that you have lost your body, you need to move on with your own journey. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to leave Virginia behind and forget her. It means that when you go into the light you are able to realize more of your own potential and you can be more like a Guardian Angel to her. You can help her in so many ways, as well as yourself.
Romero: My son… He is… He is in the hospital.
Me: Yes, he survived the accident and he is in the hospital and he is being taken care of. If you go into the light and you begin to realize your full potential you will be in a much better position to help both your son and Virginia.
Romero: But even though, as you say, I am not in the body.
Me: That is correct. How much help have you been to them so far, since the accident.
Romero: Well, I cannot get through to her.
Me: And you will not be able to get through to her unless something changes.
Romero: Then how can I help?
Me: That’s why I’m here and that is why your Guardian Angel is here. We are both here to show you a new way to help them.
Romero: I don’t know you, but your voice sounds like I should trust you.
Me: Good. You may want to ask your Guardian Angel if we are being truthful with you. He must tell you the truth at all times and he must do your bidding.
Romero: Okay, let me ask. He says yes. You can help me and then I can help her and my little son.
Me: Okay, is there anyone that you know who has also lost their body, but loved you a great deal while they were on Earth?
Romero: My Grandmother.
Me: We are now going to ask Roberto to help us. We are going to ask him to open the light and, in the light, you will see your grandmother, because she hasn’t died either.
Romero: She is there! And she is waving.
Me: Yes, of course. She wants you to come to her.
Romero: But if I go to her, I will lose… Virginia.
Me: Ask your grandmother if you will lose Virginia if you go into the light?
Romero: She says no. There will be a delay for a little second and then I will be able to help her. I can help her and I can still love her.
Me: Do you believe her?
Romero: Yes, she is my grandmother.
Me: Okay, are you willing to go into the light?
Romero: Yes.
Me: It must be your choice, but there is nothing that you can do for Virginia now.
Romero: But I see two others. Are they with us as well?
Me: That is probably St. Michael and Padre Pio, they are here helping us as well.
Romero: They shake their heads, yes.
Me: They are spirit guides that are always here to help me when I do this kind of work. Ordinarily, I would always ask for their intervention to open the light in the past, but I think it is more respectful to ask your Guardian Angel to do that. But they are here to provide protection and to help in any way that they can.
Romero: That is good.
Me: Are you ready to go with your grandmother at this time?
Romero: It is a big step.
Me: Yes, it is. Is there anything else that I could tell you that would help you.
Romero: No, I think I sense the honesty and the fact that there are so many here to help me so that I can help my family. I think I am ready.
Me: Okay, all you need to do is to walk toward your grandmother.
Romero: I say good-bye to all of you and I thank you.
Me: You are most welcome and I am very happy that we could help.
Psychic: Okay, he is gone.
Me: Is there anything else that needs to be addressed?
Psychic: Padre says there is nothing more. That was all we needed. It was just a matter of getting him to believe.
SPIRITS IN THE LIGHT,
SPIRITS THAT REMAIN EARTHBOUND
Spirit release covers a broad range of situations. For those that have “died” and lost their bodies, it refers to helping them to release the preoccupation with physical existence, let go of their fear and find their way back into the light or the perfect unity from which they came. For those that were angels and were never incarnate, it is a matter of helping them to understand that they are beings of light that have volunteered to hold a negative polarity in service to humanity. It is not a simple matter of giving erudite explanations because these spirits have been at their task for millennia and are convinced that what they do is who they are. Rather, it is about treating these spirits with a great deal of compassion and calling upon the Archangels for their aid and assistance. After all, these beings must choose to return to the light of their own free will, they cannot be compelled. The final entity to be dealt with is quite rare, and is the most insidious. It is a nondescript energy of fear and hatred usually associated with a physical place. Many atrocities may have occurred in this place and there is a widespread belief that the place is cursed. If enough energy is put into a belief, it becomes a reality. In essence, it is just energy. The resolution comes when the negative aspect of the energy can be released. The most powerful force in the universe, love, can accomplish this. Once this energy has lost its destructive component, it can be returned to Gaia to be used, as she will, toward her own betterment.
When the spirits of human beings or individual aspects, “lifetimes” of the soul are released and the body ceases to function, they either choose to go into the light or they remain Earthbound. If they go into the light, this particular lifetime comes to an end. The spirits are warmly received and celebrated by family and friends. Just because they are in the light doesn’t infer that their existence is one of complete nirvana. After the celebration of its return to the unity of all that is, the soul experiences a life review when it is ready for it. If it is carrying the weight of too many painful memories or self-recriminations for its actions it may create a particular paradise for itself that makes it easier for it to heal. There are also angels and guides to help with this process. Sometimes it takes a while until the soul is ready to release some of the self-judgment it carries against itself. Again, everything has to do with freewill; nothing will be taken from you. When you are ready, you will release those energies.
When the soul is ready, it will experience the life review. This has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of judgment. It is merely going through a replay of your life from the perspective of those you interacted with. You are able to feel how your words, actions, lack of actions, beliefs, and biases impacted others. If for example, you caused the death of another person, you will not only feel what the victim felt, but the feelings of the victim’s family, friends and associates as well as the consequences they had experienced as a result of that loss. On the other hand, if you were instrumental in saving a life, you would feel the love, adulation, and relief of the family, friends and associates as well as the consequences of having that individual remain in their lives. The life review is about learning. What good does it do to have lifetime after lifetime on planet Earth if we are oblivious as to what we may have brought about? Remember, any pain that you experience in this process, is pain that you brought with you and it will remain with you until you chose to let it go.
I realize that I am discussing the life review in three-dimensional or linear terms, but it is the only language I have. In reality, it is a multi-dimensional experience where you experience every event, every nuance, as well as their repercussions just as though you perceive with the mind of God. You are able to observe everything about everything without any kind of filter. Once the review is completed and you are able to release every form of negativity, the veil of forgetfulness is completely pulled back and you are ready to begin the planning for the next incarnation.
I realize that I haven’t addressed the relationship between ourselves and the spirit of our loved ones in the light. As they are in a much higher dimension, they have the freedom to be anywhere and everywhere at any given moment. If we communicate with them, they will absolutely hear us, as they are around us all of the time. They can communicate with us as well and do so through dreams, a feeling, or manipulating something meaningful in our environment. They may also make their presence known as odor, a sound or an apparition. The love they felt for us, they will always feel, only now it is many times stronger. You may choose to interact with the physical being that you once knew, but that was only an aspect of their soul that became fully reintegrated with their higher self once they returned to the light. The person that they were in their last incarnation can be fully present to you, but they are so much more. In all likelihood, they are also a grandfather, a great aunt, a best friend, a sister, and a mortal enemy. They are more akin to an angel and though they care for you deeply, they are aware of a bigger picture and would never attempt to influence your beliefs or free will. Many people say that they are unable to communicate with their loved ones who have transitioned. The problem usually lies in the fact that they are expecting their relatives to communicate as a three-dimensional entity and they are unwilling to open themselves up to other possibilities.
For those spirits that choose to remain earthbound, the story is a little different. Rather than transitioning into the light, they may begin a new earthly journey in the form of a disembodied spirit, and may or may not be aware that they have undergone a physical demise, especially if the shift was quick and caught them unaware. One of the things I have found, in doing this kind of work, is that the awareness you have of yourself changes little as a result of the event. Usually, the first reaction to a car or plane crash that claims your life is one of surprise. The victim may think, “Wow, how did I avoid getting killed?” They are aware of themselves so they know they are not dead. However, something has changed. They still see themselves in a physical body, though that may simply be a construct of consciousness. Psychics often refer to this phenomenon as the astral body. People who meditate and have out-of-body experiences will sense the astral body. Also, people who have a near-death incident are aware of themselves and everything that is going on around them, though they may show absolutely no brain activity on the monitors. They see their loved ones, the hospital staff, people in the waiting room, etc. but aren’t conscious of having walked to them. Their thoughts, not their feet, seem to take them from place to place or from person to person. At first, it is peculiar for them but one of the things that humans do best is adapt. If in your lifetime you were to have a major stroke or some other significant brain injury everything would change for you but eventually, you would find a new normal.
It is always the “now” moment as time does not appear to exist in this multidimensionality. Consequently, there is no concept of it having passed. One of the things that I always ask spirits is to have them tell me what year it is. In every instance, they will give me the year that they died. If a great deal of time has passed since their physical demise, they are usually disbelieving when I attempt to make them aware of it, which tells me that they are not perceiving their surroundings exactly as they did when they had a body. Another strange thing about their existence is that people ignore them and this is very confusing for them, particularly when it concerns family. They do, however, have the ability to interact with other spirits and just like people, some are friendly and accommodating and others are not. They can also communicate with children and people who have psychic abilities. They find it peculiar that they can communicate with some people but not others and usually chalk it up to an idiosyncrasy of the new normal. Also, all of them are able to see their guardian angels, which never leave their sides, but they tend to be unaware of their identity. To their way of thinking, it is just that weird guy or gal that they can’t quite seem to shake, who, when they engage them, are usually saying things about the light. However, given your freewill, angels do not have the ability to influence you in or out of the body unless you give them permission. Further, as I mentioned before, the journey of a lifetime does not end until the spirit returns to the light.
Spirits that have not gone into the light usually remain earthbound for one of several reasons, fear, following their desires, or a peculiar mishap. Fear is almost always as a result of religious conditioning. Most humans suffer from low self-esteem, as they believe they were conceived in sin and born dirty. Further, if they have not done enough to expiate the negative consequences of their sinfulness they will be judged, by an otherwise infinitely loving being, and then sent to a place of eternal punishment. Realizing, that where they are in the moment is considerably more attractive than eternal damnation, they choose not to go into the light and receive their ultimate sentence. These souls have a tendency to wander aimlessly for hundreds and perhaps thousands of our years until something occurs to alter the situation either by making the choice to go into the light or being motivated toward another circumstance.
Souls that choose to follow their desires may manifest that choice in a variety of ways. It may be that they are a parent and their death occurs when a child is very young and their maternal/paternal instincts prohibit them from moving on, not realizing that they can be ever so much more effective once they are in the light. Likewise, someone who is over-controlling and possessive of another may not wish to give up control of that person. It may also be that a human was incredibly materialistic and put all of his/her effort into acquiring wealth and possessions. Once having attained them, there is no desire to let someone else control them. As if to say, “If I can’t take them with me, I’m not going!” It is not unusual for these situations to end in a haunting of one form or another. Then there are those that suffer from addictions, whether it is drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex or some other form. One common denominator with addictions is that the victim “knows” they must acquire their craving at all costs if they are to survive. Since their physical demise hasn’t impacted their mindset, nothing has changed and they are not about to be directed somewhere else where the opportunity to address their addictions may not be present. The same may be true for someone who has spent their life in garnering power, either in business or politics. If power is the only concept that holds meaning for them, they are not likely to leave the arena where it can be found and exercised. Obviously, the topic of following one's desires has not been exhausted but this gives a basic representation.
The next category, I refer to as a peculiar mishap. I might also refer to it as an accident but that seems an inaccurate reference. One of the things I am referring to is when a spirit gets trapped inside the energetic field that surrounds another’s body forming an attachment. This field has been referred to as an aura, a merkaba, or an electromagnetic field. Regardless of what it is called, once a spirit becomes trapped, it remains trapped until it is released. If it is not released in the current lifetime of the person carrying it, the spirit will somehow remain with the akashic record of the carrier and it will once again be trapped within them when they return to the planet in their next incarnation. Despite the number of lifetimes, a spirit may be trapped, time does not pass for them. In spite of all of this, I do not believe that the trapped spirit is aware of the successive physical aspects of the carrier’s soul, because the core identity remains the same. Looking over all of this, it begins to sound like a lot of falderal and gobbledygook. It is very difficult to explain these occurrences in three-dimensional terms because they are multi-dimensional in nature. I do not understand the mechanics of what I am trying to make clear but I have experienced them again and again.
When a spirit becomes attached to a living individual, both experience a change of sorts. For the physical being, there are a variety of symptoms that may begin to be noticed. The severity of these symptoms will usually depend upon the strength of the character of the spirit along with its intent to achieve its goals.
§ Low energy level
§ Impulsive behavior
§ Memory problems
§ Poor concentration
§ Ideas and opinions that are foreign
§ Severe headaches or migraines
§ Inner voice(s) speaking to you
§ Character shifts or mood swings
§ Abuse of substances (alcohol, tobacco drugs or food)
§ Sudden onset of physical problems with no apparent cause
§ Sudden onset of anxiety/depression with no apparent cause
§ Strong emotional and/or physical reaction to a particular topic
One of the most confusing symptoms of an attachment is the unusual ideation that may take place—ideas, perceptions and awareness that appear to come from outside the physical host. However, since most people are neither aware of nor believe in attachments, they are at a loss to explain where this information is coming from. The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that all of the information a person processes does not come from the brain. Intuition, psychic awareness, episodes of déjà vu, and memories of one’s past lives cannot possibly reside in the brain, and yet, these memories can be called up under hypnosis. The best explanation I can offer is that this information is contained in the energetic field around the body. A field that comes fully developed when one arrives on the planet.
Nevertheless, once an idea shows up in the brain, the host has no choice but to attribute the idea to him/herself because that is his/her life experience. Further, because we are multi-dimensional beings with a myopic three-dimensional bias, we tend to dismiss those anomalies that do not conform to our known reality. The brain is like a computer and data contained therein must be entered to be available. Awareness, on the other hand, draws from both synaptic storage and the energetic field, and then brings the information to the brain so the host can understand it. Like a computer, a machine that cannot tell who is tapping on its keys, the brain cannot distinguish between information contained in its own field or if it is coming from a foreign entity that may be present. It is not only thoughts that get communicated. Fears, symptoms, phobias, cultural preferences, and even the ability to speak another language may be in the mix.
Finally, the second type of peculiar mishap takes place when you are approached by a demon and told that because of your misdeeds you belong in hell and their job is to acquaint you with your new duties. I know a lot of you will throw this book down at this point and say, “Now you have gone too far. I have gone through a spiritual awakening and I know that the all-loving, benevolent God did not create a hell.” You would be absolutely correct in your burgeoning awareness of God, He did not create hell, but nevertheless, it exists. One of the truths of the universe is that whatever we direct our energy toward, it becomes manifest. Is there a Santa Clause? Absolutely! For some it is a jolly old man in a red suit. For others, it is an energy that pervades the Christmas season bestowing joy and goodwill. Whether you believe in Santa or not, there are countless newspaper articles, books, and movies all supporting the existence of him in our culture. How much human energy has been directed toward the concept of hell? Do you think you would make much headway in trying to convince a fundamentalist Christian that hell doesn’t exist? The fact of the matter is, for the fundamentalist, it does.
Now, if you held such a belief and you knew yourself to be unworthy of the light, in all likelihood, you would resign yourself to what the demon was telling you. This does not interfere with your free will. The demon told you something and you made a choice to accept it, probably because it agreed with your belief system. Again, it is a choice and not a sentence. The interesting thing in all of this is that you can make a choice to leave that all behind you at any time, though that is unlikely to happen if your belief system remains unaltered.
RELEASING DEMONS
I have come across many demons, in years of doing the release work, though by far and away, what I run into most is disembodied human spirits. Spirits, that for one reason or another, have not chosen to return to the light. That is not to say that because they are human, they are not dangerous. You have only to look at all the humans you’ve met or have heard about to know that is not the case. There are also many humans that have assumed the identity demons and their power and destructiveness has increased considerably as a result. After all, every human shares a divinity with the Creative Source which gives them tremendous power and their free will allows them to exercise this power in line with their own desires, to a point. How can this be possible? Many of those in the New Age arena have said that there is no hell and for the most part that is true. However, if a human has followed a path of evil and darkness for the greater part of their life; when they lose their body, a demon is no doubt present. For the persons actions have always attracted this energy. They may see the light, but may be afraid to go into it because of fear of being judged. The demon may approach them and say something to the effect of; you have been doing evil all your life and you have always heard what the consequence of that would be. I am afraid that you are just going to have to follow us for all eternity. If the person accepts what he/she is hearing and agrees to follow, his/her free will has not been interfered with. Of course, if the darkness is providing the only input available, the more indoctrinated the spirit becomes, the less likely it is to consider a different alternative.
However, I am getting ahead of myself. Let me take you back to when I started this kind of work. I guess you could say it had its beginnings when I was born into a rather devout Catholic family. Because of that, I grew up with all of the religious programming; Angels were good because they were servants of God, but the “bad” angels, following the lead of Lucifer, decided to rebel against God and strike out on their own. God could not tolerate this insurrection and called on his angel general, Michael the Archangel, to deal with this mutiny. So, with his flaming sword and angel army, he cast Lucifer and all of his followers into the flaming pit of Hell for all eternity. Mind you, this is the story I got as a toddler, but in all of my years of religious education it has never been altered. I never really gave it much thought until I began my theology as a Jesuit. There I learned about exorcisms and the violence that occurred to the priest that performed them. There is documented evidence of priest and their helpers, being picked up and thrown across the room, breaking backs, arms, legs and receiving grievous physical wounds. The fact of the matter is, most priest I knew were afraid of exorcisms and were reluctant to speak about the topic.
Was I afraid of the power of Satan? You bet your life, and having a Master's Degree in Theology and a doctorate in Psychology did little to minimize the fear that I carried. It never occurred to me to seek out this kind of work and I never would have done so had it not been dropped in my lap. See, First Encounter with Spirit Release, in the Spirit Release section. Nevertheless, once I found a spirit (not a demon) inside one of my clients, I was duty bound to do whatever I could to help this client. My second foray into the world of spirits happened a short time later. Again, it was not sought out, but this time there was a demonic influence, if not an actual demon present. The episode scared the hell out of me, but again, I felt a tremendous responsibility toward my client. I was not able to release the presence in that session, because quite frankly, I had no idea what I was doing. I spent the next week or so devouring every book I could find on the subject of spirit release. I was still apprehensive when I met with my client again, but I had prepared as much as I could and the session was resolved without incident. As I mentioned in the article above, I found that having clients translate what the Spirit entities were saying through the process of hypnosis, was not the most efficient way of doing the work. Synchronistically, I came in contact with a young woman who was an accomplished medium and we worked together successfully for many years.
One of the benefits of working with a medium is that she was not limited to the kind and number of spirits she could communicate with. Ever since my first encounter with a demonic presence, I was always vigilant to invite in St. Padre Pio (an entity I have been drawn to for many years) and Michael the Archangel to keep the situation safe. Since Michael was always present, I began asking him questions after some of the sessions. There wasn’t a lot he could tell us about specifics, because it would interfere with our free will. That is, if we were faced with a situation and he told us how to address it, in all likelihood, we would have deferred to his advice rather than coming up with something on our own.
Demon release was becoming more prevalent and one of the things I was finding is that I was experiencing more and more pain in doing this kind of work. There was nothing dramatic, like in the exorcism cases I had read about, but I would find myself waking up with bruises and abrasions on my body and occasionally an open wound, for which there was no explanation. My muscles were also sore like I had been in some kind of a fight. In one of our post-session communications, I told Michael that I didn’t mind doing this kind of work, but I asked him when the pain was going to stop? His reply was,
“That’s a very good question. When is the pain going to stop?”
“I don’t think you understand what I am asking.”
“I understand you, but I can’t give you the kind of answer you are looking for because it is all up to you. The reason you are experiencing pain is because of your fear. Your fear gives the demons tacit permission to do whatever you fear they are capable of. When you conquer the fear, there will be no pain.”
“But clearly, they are capable of hurting me, of course I am afraid of them.”
“You are a sovereign being. You carry a piece of the Creative Source within you. Nothing can harm you unless you give your permission. Your fear gives that permission.”
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a simple matter of hearing and understanding the words. I had to work hard to begin to grasp my own magnificence and to undo the programing that had been with me for many lifetimes. Finally, after years of working on this, I am now to a point where I will entertain any kind of a demon, because I KNOW I cannot be harmed.
Not only did I have a fear of demons, but I carried a great bias against them for all the pain and suffering that they caused. As I let go of my fear, I also found I was also losing my bias and was beginning to approach them with much more compassion. After doing this work for nearly twenty years, Michael came to me in one of our post-session discussions and explained that I had never been told the truth about angels and demons. There never was a war in heaven between Lucifer and God. God is the embodiment of love and that is all that God does, God loves. Who would rebel against unconditional love? When the galaxy was created, you were there. When your solar system and planet were being formed, you were there. Because of the divinity that you carry, you have no beginning and you have no end. At the very beginning of your planet you (the souls, not your ego selves) were able to give input about the kind of structure or paradigm they wanted to operate within on Earth. It was decided that Earth would utilize a system of duality where you would learn things by looking at their polar opposites. In order to have a system of duality, there needed to be energy holders for both polarities – the Light and the Dark, so that we would be fully able to exercise our free will. The call went out for volunteers and all of the angels stepped forward. The angels are in love with you, because you carry a piece of the divine creator within you. Some of the angels agreed to hold the positive polarity and the others the negative polarity. The problem that developed was that the negative polarity holders had operated at such a low vibration for eons that they forgot their true identity and began to identify with the work they were doing.
When I go to release demons now, I treat them with a great deal of respect and compassion. I first attempt to find out if they have ever been human. Depending upon the length of time they have been doing this work, it may be difficult for them to remember this information. If they do remember, I have them locate their guardian angel – a companion who never leaves their side. The angel will not enter into the mischief they are doing, but it is always there. I then ask them if there was anyone in that lifetime who loved them and never lied to them? They can always come up with someone. I ask them if they would like to see and speak with that person again? They will then tell me something to the effect that they died or that they don’t know where they are. I then ask them, if I can locate them would you like to see them again? They all answer with a strong affirmative. I then ask their guardian angel to open the Light and I tell them that they will be able to see their loved one in the Light. Some of them balk at this suggestion because they have learned to fear the Light. I assure them that they don’t have to approach the light, only look withing to determine if they can see their loved one. They are always able to find and recognize the ones they are looking for, but they are still hesitant about going into the Light. I have them ask their loved ones if anything negative will happen to them if they do approach them? They are always told that no harm will come to them and that they will be received in love; a love that is more powerful than any they could never even imagine. I ask them if they believe what they are being told? Most say yes and are ready to go to their loved ones, but some few need a little more convincing. If this is the case, I have them approach their guardian angel and look into its eyes and tell me what they see. Consistently, they all see a profound love that they cannot disregard. I tell them to ask their angel if what their loved one told them is true? They always receive an overwhelming affirmative. By this time, they are ready to return to their loved ones in the Light.
If an entity cannot remember if it was human, that is usually an indication that they were not. Demons have a certainty that they have always been demons. I then ask the entity to look around for that being that has always been with them, it never joins them in what they are doing, but it is always around. They immediately know who I am talking about. I have them look into the eyes of this being and begin a relationship. Eventually, their angel will win their confidence and be able to lead them into the light.
If the spirit or spirits I am working with are true demons, I approach the situation a little differently. I let them know that I am there to help them. This is usually met with scorn and words of contempt.
“What could you possibly do to help me? You are so weak; I could kill you in an instant.”
“I know that and I respect your power, but if you are not afraid, perhaps you will let me show you how I can help you.” Any suggestion of fear or shortcomings on their part are always met with derision and bluster.
“I’m not afraid of anything! I am incredibly powerful.”
“Good, because what I am going to ask you is going to take a lot of courage.”
“What is it”
“I want you to look very deep withing yourself. I want you to look past all of the darkness, all the pain, all the fear and all the anxiety and tell me what you see.”
“This can’t be right.”
“What are you seeing?”
“I am seeing a little baby surrounded by light.”
“What were you told about the light?”
“I was told that it would kill me.”
“Pay attention to the baby and the light; are you feeling any ill effects?”
“No, it feels kind of good, but confusing.”
“That baby is your true essence. It represents the purity of your genuine identity. You are an angel of light. I am here to tell you that your time as a demon has come to an end.”
“Why should I believe you.”
“If you look, you will see Michael the Archangel. He is the angel who asked you to do the work you are doing now.”
“That’s right, he asked us to hold the negative polarity for the planet, but we are not done doing that yet.”
“Ask Michael if the work you have been doing is at an end?”
“He says that our work is done and that we have done a very good job. What is going to happen to us now?”
“You are going to be led into the light where you will be given a party and celebrated for what you have done.”
“That’s not right. The things we have done have caused great suffering and pain. We can’t be celebrated for that.”
“That’s not what you are being celebrated for. You are being celebrated because you were asked to provide a service to humanity and you performed that service to the very best of your ability for uncounted eons. That is why you are being celebrated. Ask Michael if what I am saying is true?”
“He is shaking his head yes.”
“Are you ready to go with Michael, it has to be your choice.”
“I am ready.”
“Then allow Michael to lead you into the light.”
One of the interesting things about demons is that they have followers. A really powerful demon can have millions of followers and if you can convince the leader to go into the Light, he tries to command all of his followers to do the same. I have to let the demon know that the followers cannot be commanded but must be allowed to go of their own free will. I then address them as a group and have them all look deep within themselves. They all see the baby and they are all ready to follow.
I have been doing this work for over 25 years and have released tens of millions of demons. Of course, there are many other people on the planet engaged in a similar process and they too have released countless demons back into the light. The curious thing I have been witnessing in the last couple of years is that the demons seem a little perplexed of late. They are aware of the fact that so many of their coworkers have been disappearing and they are at a loss to explain it. I use this information to get them to engage me and tell them that I can explain what has been happening. They are eager to hear what I have to say. After hearing the story that they have completed their task and have returned home they are much more amenable and more willing to cooperate with me to rid themselves of this new confusion. So many of them are unsettled by these new developments, and with so many of their numbers disappearing their commitment to the works is diminishing. Many are actually quite willing to find a new way.
I never really reflected on the reduction of the number of demons that has been occurring but it is all makes sense. It is part of the universal shift that is taking place on the planet at this time. The shift is one of consciousness and we are moving into an entirely new paradigm, where we will leave the polarities of duality and separation behind us and begin to move toward unity and cooperation. The old energies of competition, greed and the pursuit of power will fade with the passing of the old paradigm and a new and benevolent age of compassion and sharing will be upon us. If you look for the new paradigm you will find it. If you live in fear of what appears to be happening on the planet at this time, you will not.
It seems like everything on the planet is getting worse and there is a reason for that. In preparation for this shift in consciousness, there is so much light being pumped into the planet at this time. One of the effects of the increase in Light, is that the darkness can no longer remain hidden. What has always been there in the Dark is now being brought to Light and it appears that there are more problems than ever. There are not more problems, but until these difficulties are exposed there is no way that they can be addressed. Do not look to find the truth of all of this on your network news, they are only interested in keeping you in fear. Open your heart and look for the goodness that surrounds you and you will find it.
